Got extremely painful period cramps?

Period Pain Is Not Normal. You will hear me say this over and over.

“Stress, trauma, and shock start an inflammatory process, that can cause progressive damage to the organs, including the liver. Giving progesterone following the injury protects against the increase of TNF, IL-6, and leakage of liver enzymes (Kuebler, et al., 2003). It has similar protective effects in the brain, lungs, and other organs. During the normal menstrual cycle, IL-6 is inversely related to the level of progesterone (Angstwurm, et aI., 1997).”

What do PMS/PMDD, Pre-Eclampsia and Menopause have in common?

The same conditions that produce the premenstrual syndrome, will produce preeclampsia, toxemia of pregnancy, eclampsia, and postpartum depression.

Chronic, long term inflammation is the root cause of dysfunctional wombs and dysfunctional menstruation.

Chronic inflammation is the first sign that your hormonal balance off.

Chronic inflammation means that your thyroid’s function is poor/bad. Low, poor, bad thyroid function means you will be suffering from low cellular energy production. A poorly functioning thyroid, will most often be accompanied by low progesterone and high estrogen; also known as estrogen dominance.

When your cells do not produce adequate energy, you loose internal structure and function. This means your body parts just don’t do what they are supposed to do, when they are supposed to do it.

Thus leads to overproduction of several different pro-inflammatory hormones including:

  • Cortisol

  • Prolactin

  • Serotonin

  • Histamines,

  • Estrogen

  • Growth Hormone

  • Parathyroid hormone

  • Aldosterone

  • Prostaglandins

Overproduction meaning, these hormones have their place and role, but when you are inflamed; they take over and cause havoc called Hormonal Imbalance. An over abundance of pro-inflammatory hormones creates the vicious cycle that is period cramps and period pain.

The goal is to focus on nutrition, stress relief or finding better ways to manage stress, surrounding onesself with love and care and lastly dealing with past traumas.
